Job Overview
The Assistant Manager, Business Planning Section supports the Manager in driving business planning, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and CAPEX oversight to enable timely, data-driven decisions for the OTSM Project. This role prepares analyses and management reports, contributes to strategy and feasibility work, partners with cross-functional teams, and ensures adherence to financial controls and corporate governance.
Job Description
Support business planning through analysis, feasibility studies, and market research.
Assist in evaluating new projects, improvements, and investment proposals.
Prepare analysis and reports for management review.
Help prepare management reports, dashboards, and presentations.
Support consolidation and analysis of regular reports.
Track performance and highlight key variances.
Assist in annual budgeting and forecasts.
Monitor actual results against budgets and forecasts.
Provide ad hoc reports and analysis when needed.
Monitor CAPEX spending against approved budgets.
Assist with CAPEX completion and post-project reports.
Work Location: Samalaju Plant (OTSM Sdn Bhd)
Job Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
3–5 years’ relevant experience in business planning, corporate finance, or similar roles; experience in manufacturing or heavy industry preferred.
Strong financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting skills; proven ability to prepare and present clear executive‑level materials.
Experience supporting CAPEX governance and capital project evaluations.
Proven analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Experience with ERP and planning systems is desirable; proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence stakeholders and present complex information clearly.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and to coach or supervise junior team members.
