Job Overview
The Manager, Safety & Health Section is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s occupational safety, health, and environmental (SHE) programs. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, promotes a strong safety culture, and implements policies and procedures to prevent workplace accidents and health hazards.
The position works closely with management, supervisors, and employees to develop, implement, and continuously improve safety systems, risk management strategies, and workplace health initiatives.
Job Description
Develop, implement, and review safety and health policies, procedures, and programs.
Ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations and standards.
Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
Lead incident and accident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor safety performance indicators and prepare safety reports for management.
Coordinate safety audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
Liaise with regulatory authorities, external auditors, and relevant stakeholders.
Organize and conduct safety training, awareness programs, and toolbox meetings.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills.
Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of safety records and reports.
Lead, supervise, and develop the Safety & Health team.
Promote continuous improvement in safety practices and workplace health initiatives.
Continuously evaluate and recommend areas for improvement to operational processes, equipment reliability, and SHE performance.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the direct superior or company directors.
Job Requirement
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in occupational safety and health management.
At least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience in safety and health.
Certified Safety and Health Officer (SHO) or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
Strong knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations and best practices.
Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety audits.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop and deliver safety training programs.
Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficient in preparing safety reports and documentation.
High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
